So we're finally going to start work on Drupal 5 Arabic translation. the 4.7 translation was pretty good but released near the end of the drupal 4.7's cycle and we did not get a chance to promote it.
this time let's do things right and start translation early.
I'm currently working on merging 4.7 translation with new drupal 5 POTs, Gharbeia should focus on core only for the moment since contrib modules are still in flux and their strings might change dramatically.

care to review that translation and see if we can learn anything from it? do we want to invite them to join this group?
Not bad, but not very good. We should join efforts
After a quick look on the .po, I can see it is based on the 4.7 translation published on drupal.org, although the repeating some quality issues we had to go through earlier: plural forms (they use 2 forms), impreative or gerund, some bad spelling here and here.
However, I can see they are coming with their own ideas when it comes to Drupal and other terminology translation. It would be good to contact them at one point when we have achieved some progress in 5.0 translation.
