Is anyone in the LA area interested in participating in a Global Sprint Weekend on March 9th and/or 10th?
There are local Drupal sprints being organized all over the world on the same days.
"Everyone is welcome; if you have built a site in Drupal, you can contribute. We will split into pairs and work on Drupal core issues. Bring your laptop. If possible, install git before coming and git clone Drupal 8 core. For new folks: you can get a head start also by making an account on Drupal.org and taking a look at the Drupal Ladder http://drupalladder.org/"
For more information please visit the Drupal Sprint Weekend March 9, 2013 and March 10, 2013 page.
I've spoken with Droplabs and the venue is available for us to use on those days.
Please comment here if you'd like to be involved, so we can gauge if there's enough interest.

I'm interested! I've really enjoyed other sprints I've been a part of.
I'd be interested, but I
I'd be interested, but I don't think I'll be in L.A. that weekend -- catch up with you later on it
I'd love to come to this &
I'd love to come to this & help contribute. Matter of fact, I keep meaning to come out to the LBC contribute meetups just so I can get inspired by the work that group is doing so I can contribute back a few things I've been working on.
But I'm up to my eyeballs in projects, so have very little time. In short, I'm a "definite maybe."

Westside Participation?
I'd be interested in meeting up with a few folks on the westside or in culver city if anyone else is interested.

Howdy Mike.
Oliver (oseldman) has taken the initiative to gather folks for this worldwide Drupal Contribution Sprint here in L.A. It'd be great if there was more than one place for folks to go to since we know how geographically-distributed Los Angeles is. The problem is that it lands on a weekend. As Oliver mentioned, @Droplabs has graciously offered to host & support Oliver's initiative for anyone & everyone in the SoCal community.
Hopefully you can make it out. If you're concerned about the commute from the Westside to Droplabs, I'd be more than happy to help you figure out the most efficient route. For example, the Metro (high speed rail) Line goes from Culver City to Downtown. You could even bike to the closest station to you, bring your bike on the train & then continue on. LA's high speed rail has come a LONG way since the Blue Line (Long Beach to Downtown LA) was first opened in the Summer of 1990 (& was the only train option). Now, you can also come to Downtown LA from North Hollywood, Norwalk, Redondo Beach & points further since the MetroLink connects to Downtown's Union Station.
This offer stands for anyone else wanting to attend this event but unsure of how best to make the commute. I'm more than happy to help anyone have ACCESS to events & contribution of such a vibrant community (which LA is!) instead of barriers.
Hope that helps. :)

Twig
it would be great if I could send people interested in working on Twig to Droplabs. We'll be meeting in-person in Berkeley and San Diego, but encourage people to join remotely too.
It would be great if we could use the DropLabs sprint as a remote meeting point, because sprinting together is way more fun than sprinting alone! :)

Definitely interested in this
Definitely interested in participating in this at Droplabs. I can wrangle some people here from Princess to help contribute as well.
Also think it would be great to include Twig in this. Selfishly, I want at least one person from my team to help this out.
Oliver and I chatted last
Oliver and I chatted last night and we can commit to being at Droplabs for parts of Saturday (but not Sunday, yet…) from 10am-5pm:
Drupal Sprint Weekend: Los Angeles
http://groups.drupal.org/node/285983
The current plan is for a couple simultaneous events:
I'm personally only able to commit to Saturday and will be focusing on Otto and the mentored training. If there's interest, though, Droplabs can also host a 2nd day of sprinting on Sunday, March 10. Is anyone available to volunteer on Sunday?
I can help line up some staff support so that we can open and close the space on Sunday, but we need volunteers and organizers to keep the sprints running. We need some organizing assistance to make that happen.
