Come on down to La Bande-Passante from 1pm - 5pm on Sunday, March 18 for an informal Drupal meetup. Sorry about the short notice, but feel free to come! :)

The address is 8655 St-Denis, very near the Cremazie metro.

Note that a small ($1) donation is required to use the facility. Thanks a lot for the space!

And I think Robin will too, so that makes at least two of us! :)

I'll try to come later

I have something else starting at 1pm, but hopefully I'll be able to pop in for a brief visit later in the day. If I can't make it, then I'll try for the next one.

OT: I just looked at the Bande-Passante website and noticed they're suffering from the dreaded i18n menu-doubling bug (http://drupal.org/node/111047).

I'll be there...

Synopsis...

Was a pretty cool time! Very informal. :)

There were 6 people in attendance: myself, Omar, Robin, Matthieu, Fred, and Dave (incrn8) dropped in for awhile as well. :)

Matthieu, Robin, and Dave also brought up internationalization and spam solutions for Drupal, and we spent some time talking about that. Robin has the dreaded "double-menu" bug on the SQIL site (which is looking for volunteers to put on events, btw!).

I showed my first theme, Blue Zinfandel, a port of a WordPress theme. Robin helped me fix some bugs and I fixed another few bugs as well. I also helped Fred with some theming strategies for his web comic site.

Omar showed off his Wacom tablet and some cool artwork. Not Drupal related, but it was very cool! :D

The double-menu bug appears

The double-menu bug appears on the Bande-Passante website. I was simply planning to restart it from scratch, but honestly I haven't really had a look at it under the hood. The part about SQIL looking for volunteers is 100% true though :)

See you all next time!

Ha...

...and this is exactly why I shouldn't be typing up synopses and trying to hold a conversation at the same time. ;)

Thanks for the clarification, Robin! :)

Nice meeting you all...

It was great to finally put faces to some of the people I've seen on the Drupal.org forums. I'm just sorry I couldn't stay longer. I think that there is great potential in these informal gatherings - different insights into problems and all that jazz, plus a bit of fun on the side. Anyway, I'll do my best to be there for the next one.
