Who

Calling all Austin Drupalers!

What

Austin Drupal User Group Monthly Meetup!

When

Wednesday, April 4th. 7-9 pm. The poll to vote on your preferred day and time for the monthly Drupal meetup resulted in 21 total votes. Majority wins so Wednesday it is, and we're going with 7-9 pm.

Where

We'll gather at Dog and Duck for our April 4th meetup. They allow free wireless Internet access but folks bringing a laptop need to BRING A CHARGED BATTERY as they only have one spot to plug in an electrical cord. If your laptop's battery is low when you arrive at Dog and Duck, you and your laptop may be out of luck.

If you have a place in mind for our next meetup, please add your comment and include the venue name, address, phone number, and a URL, if available. Office/university space that works for about a dozen (12) folks is good as well, but we'll need an address, your cell phone number, and whether or not any special access is required.

Why

The Austin DUG wants YOUR participation and your fellow Drupalers want to meet you, make new friends/professional contacts, and learn about how you're using Drupal.

Sign up by adding your "Yes, I'll be there" comment. It helps to know how many folks will be attending.

Well, I'd like to come to the next Drupal meetup, but Wednesdays' are bad for me right now.

Wednesdays bad for me as well

At some point in the future, if you guys can swing it- please try a Tuesday or Thursday- Wednesday night is blocked for me into the future.

I am interested in meeting up with you guys- I have a small Drupal project that I had posted to Craigs List- with no one local responding... so perhaps by meeting up here (over beers) we can work together.

Thanks,
Kevin

Too bad on Wed +1

I'm looking forward to coming down to Austin to meet some folks and talk shop tomorrow evening.

As a side, I was dismayed that this thread somehow settled to the bottom of the Austin posts since it's "the thing that's happening" now. Can it be flagged as sticky? At least for the next two days? Actually, I only found it again by searching http://groups.drupal.org/search/node/austin+monthly

-bronius

OK, see you soon!

Thanks for pointing out the post had "settled". I flagged it as sticky.

In general, I look forward to seeing Central Texas Drupalers Wednesday evening here in Austin. Please help spread the word about this group and about our monthly meetings. It's a give-and-take situation and everyone is welcome - novices, folks who can code in their sleep, and everyone in-between.

Wednesday are /good/ for me, so I should be there. Not much new to report, but I'm keen to hear about sxsw and pick all your brains (again).. I'll see if I can dig myself into a really deep hole just for the occasion.

Sam

Yup, gonna make it

Won't have a lappie to bring this time, but am looking forward to meeting the folks I only saw at BarCamp and anyone who's interested in CiviCRM.

Count Me In

I'm a complete Drupal novice. I've installed v5 as well as several contributed modules at my hosting service. I teach high school computer classes and am considering offering an elective course on content management systems. I've been evaluating platforms for the past year and Drupal gets my nod. I hope to roll up my sleeves this summer and dig in. I offered a PHP/MySQL course last year.

See you on Wednesday,

John

Another NOOB

Sounds good to me. I've been playing with 4.7 & 5.1 for a bit and still feel a bit lost among the add-on modules. It would be nice to talk to some folks who might have found their way out of the woods.

Most of my stuff since the Windows For Workgroups days has been static HTML or SSI SHTML hand-coded with Notepad. I'm still kinda nervous about the longevity of a database driven option. But there's just too much content to do it by hand anymore.

See y'alll tomorrow!
Brian

I've been beta testing so long that doing the wrong thing has become almost instinctive.
