Greenpeace UK is in the middle of an evaluation of CMS's. See http://importantprojects.co.uk/archives/000077.php for detailed information about their process. I will be making a presentation this Friday to them and addressing how Drupal could meet their needs. I am looking for help in this, specifically I will want to show them working examples of each of their areas of interest. Check out their requirements spreadsheet and give a hand here.
For the record we (CivicActions) are not being paid for this work. This is not a decision making regarding who will implement any of their sites in the future. We will give full-credit to anyone who contributes here (as a matter of fact I will show them this group during the presentation). We believe that Drupal would be a great platform for Greenpeace UK, but more importantly we believe that the Drupal community is the right community for Greenpeace.

Great initiative
Hi Dan, this a great initiative. I'll try to review the requirements and hopefully Zack will do one of his configuration sprints!
I think the consulting list would also be interested in flexing their collective capabilities to support this effort.
Cheers,
Kieran

Cool
I'm going through their requriements in detail and I will be showing them sites that demonstrate the platform. What would be helpful would be additional materials - what is not in their spreadsheet that should be for example. Also I would like to compile a list of nice activist/environmental sites. Also what would be cool would be "testimonials" - Drupal folks expressing why they would like Greenpeace "in the family".
Kleercut campaign
Are you familiar with the Kleercut campaign?
We can ask around for others.

Yes - they are as well - but we should add it to the list - URL?
And the URL is...
http://www.kleercut.net
And the Forest Friendly 500 too
Indeed, Kleercut is running on Drupal (you can read about it here: http://kleercut.net/en/open-source-campaigning). The related site -- Forest Friendly 500 -- was also launched recently at http://forestfriendly500.org. Good luck on this!

A platform for social change...
I'll offer a "why Drupal will not turn out like OpenACS" quote :) I was around when Greenpeace international first went down the OpenACS path... part of the logic was that OpenACS had the potential to be a platform for social change. I think Drupal/CiviCRM has already proven itself as a high quality platform for social change.
Looks like they are still
Looks like they are still using Drupal to some level, but their blog system looks awfully like WordPress to me but their anaylics coding has reference to Drupal, maybe they are using both at present? I know this thread is out but I love reading about big companies, and charities using open source platforms.
