Start:
2007-01-06 05:00 - 07:00 Etc/GMT-5

Only local images are allowed.Let's cool off from the DC heat this coming Tuesday, June 5th, with some beers and catch up on what everyone has been working on. I know a lot of folks here in DC have been jamming on some awesome projects and we could all benefit from learning about them and sharing our own work.

I'm working on finding a venue for us now and will update everyone once we have one set up. It will be in the Dupont area so it should be easy for everyone to stop by after work. We'll get started at 7:00 pm.

I propose a round of five minute egg timer talks. I'll bring the egg timers (I bought a few to help us focus). I'm thinking six to eight short talks bringing the total time to around 30 to 40 minutes. We can then end with Ted's traditional five minute Drupal round up to give us the latest news on the code freeze. I know some folks may think five minutes is too short to share their amazing ideas, but the goal is to get everyone interested in your work so they'll want to talk with you casually after. So let the ideas flow! Post proposals for egg timer talks and requests for what you want to hear about.

See everyone on Tuesday!

UPDATE: As Bonnie said, we'll be meeting at the Science Club at 1136 19th Street, NW. See you there!

Hi kherbst,
You might want to post this as it's own page within the groups so it is not buried under the meetup post. This comment thread is more for people to talk about the meetup next week.

I'm a newbie looking to network with other drupalers in DC. I'm trying to design a website for social dancers (salsa, ballroom, swing, etc) with club locations, lessons, reviews, etc. Hoping to make some friends!

Hi, I'm the salsa instructor from last night!

It was great meeting all you guys last night! I've already made some great contacts for my dance website project. If any of you are interested in collaborating in the future, or just interested in salsa dancing and lessons, I'll include my contact info so you can reach me!

the stuff I showed last night

Justin Miller's picture

I've just blogged about the stuff I showed last night (http_redirect and some Drupal/Jabber interaction) over here. This is the only place to download my changes to http_redirect.module right now, until they make it into Drupal CVS. Enjoy!

By the way, great meeting

By the way, great meeting again last night! I enjoyed the presentations, getting to know some new people, and hanging for wings and beers afterwards (always a good call in my book).

That Was Fun

That was a fun meetup. We have to do stuff like that more often, the night ends to early from time to time.
