coming! veggie & non-veggie! kabissa joomla->drupal june 30th!
Hey folks,
Glad to hear this is happening and glad to sign up to attend. I eat all food (within reason). It will be a pleasure to see Gregory and the rest again and to get re-hooked up with the drupal seattle community.
We are also in the throes of a migration of the http://www.kabissa.org website from Joomla to Drupal 5.1, and working with civicrm for providing organization membership profiles functionality.. an important piece of functionality that has been much needed for several years now. The Drupal site is to be launched end-June, with the civicrm functionality as soon as possible thereafter. :-) Wishful thinking? Whatever happens, by June 29th I'm sure I'll have a huge list of questions and war stories to tell.
Civicrm part being documented here:

Tobias, it will be great to see you again! Definitely bring your stories and questions. Maybe you can give a Lightening Talk? That's five minutes to talk about anything...like a project you're working on or something you just figured out in Drupal etc.

We are working on the coffee situation. I want coffee too, so I'm sure we'll figure it out.
Yes, bring laptops. Youngstown offers wireless and we like it when folks try things out on their computers too. Developer Track for sure. I'll be typing code and I hope you will too.

planning to attend
I am planning to attend the Camp! I'll eat pretty much anything, I don't care.
planning on draggging some vancouver peeps with me
and leaving really early from vancouver friday morning say at 5a.m.
how's the rush hour in seattle coming from the north?
any workarounds at 8a.m,.ish or should we just grin and bear the outrageous reality of seattle traffic?
and i'll take any kind of food as long as its not fast food and tasty and inexpensive!
Traffic will suck. I-5 has
Traffic will suck.
I-5 has express lanes which start near Northgate Mall (around exit 173) and will be open in the morning. I don't know what traffic is like on the Express lanes, but they take you through downtown, then back on to I-5 before the exit for the West Seattle Bridge. There is 1 HOV lane on I-5, but it will probably be packed.
Since Youngstown is in West Seattle, and if you're feeling adventurous you might consider taking 99 when you get closer to town (probably the Northgate mall exit (#173)) and head West to get to 99, then South on 99 to the West Seattle Bridge. It will still get somewhat crowded just North of downtown, but it will be easy once you get in the tunnel (which goes under part of downtown). Taking 99 means driving some small streets to get to it from I-5 plus the speed limit on 99 is 40 or 45 miles per hour (60-73 kph).
Anyone else who has insight to driving during rush hour, please chime in. I work from home most days, so if you're out their regularly we'd like to hear from you.
Thanks,
Robin

Robin
Heh, you beat me to it
There are very few alternate routes through downtown. If you know the area or have a good GPS, SR-99 can work for you. But the intersections and speed limit don't add much gain to a commuter.
Best staying with the main I-5 route unless there is some horrendous accident.
Seattle traffic
Southbound through the city is usually backed up fairly solid 10-15 miles out. If you are all commuting in one vehicle, be sure to catch the left side entrance to the express lanes that begin at Northgate (NE 110th). This will carry you through downtown and push you along the quickest way to the West Seattle Bridge.
Fridays are slightly lighter than most commuter days.
http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/seattle/
thanks for the traffic tips
really appreciate it! we will take i5 and hov lanes and grin and bear it as i have a propensity for getting lost and no GPS

About Parking - I posted
About Parking - I posted this information in our planning wiki, but I thought I'd post it here as well since this is the sign up node:
There is a parking lot just north of the Youngstown building (i.e. you'll be driving south so the entrance to the parking lot is before the building). If you find the lot is full here are some other suggestions for parking:
It is okay to park on the east side of Delridge.
it is also okay to use the parking lot across the street at the community center.
It is NOT okay to use the residential lot behind the building.

Bring your earplugs to EL Corazon, that venue is notoriously loud. I say this as someone who goes to a lot of shows, they really push it to the limits.

Camping out with the drupallers..
Thanks, Gregory - I had a great time and learned alot. The Barnraising is a good format for learning drupal!
I also did a quick brain dump on my blog at http://www.saidia.org with my notes.. which of course became less useful as the day progressed and I got more tired of sitting at my computer. ;-) Hope to make more sense of it, esp in understanding more about views and panels (that was the most important part for me) as well as some of the modules discussed that I hadn't heard of before or thought seriously about using, like tagalicious and bookmarking.
I'm going to be gone for the next month or so, basically, but look forward to catching up with everyone at a future drupal meetup in August/September. Stay tuned for a new Drupal site at http://www.kabissa.org shortly, and ping me if you'd be up for helping me with the remaining configuration issues.. esp with setting up views and panels.
Cheers,
Tobias

I believe that notebook is mine! I don't think there is much important in there... I did most of my notetaking on my laptop, so don't worry about it! I came down from Bellingham, and it's not worth sending it up here.
Thanks so much, by the way. I actually was in the user section most of the time and found it very helpful.
