Sharing information & RSS

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I think a good way to share information/links may be to use a particular tag in delicious, technorati, tags on this site, etc. So basically maybe just establish a convention that everyone tags their stuff to share.

Maybe something like:
a2drupal

That way anything discussed can be found very easily, say for instance the pivots discussion that was talked about last night or maybe the instructional videos that everyone discussed. I am very big on RSS and I think it would be a good way to share information, maybe even create a mash-up for the group that would have an RSS feed you could subscribe to that would show upcoming events, etc.

Right on Xamox! After the meetings I added free tags to this group. But a controlled Vocabulary as suggested can be quite powerful. So I left the free tagging category I created for flexibility and also added another category (Post type) that is controlled. To force the tagging agenda I have required at least one Post type tag.

A block on the right shows Group categories.

So to get the "upcoming events" feed as suggested you can now traverse to the "events" tag and subscribe to the feed on that page.

re: Delicious - I'd like to do everything through Drupal if possible. If we need more functionality as a group we should request it rather than out source it. If it can't be provided through http://Groups.drupal.org we should try to get it through our Drupal installation at http://a2drupal.org.
