Nominate #drupalNYC for renaming, more appropriate for it's topic and overall purpose.

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

In celebration of new and more appropriate (in many meanings of that word) #drupal-nyc, i nominate #drupalNYC to be renamed.

So far the nominations have been #nyc-roflcopter and #nyc-lols (without dash as well).

Nominate your ideas and we'll pick the best.

You will not create a drupal- channel that is NSFW. I nominate ##nyc-nsfw or something like that.

I am sad that neither of you comprehended anything we said that the Drupal community as a whole does not condone such activities and that such channels have no place under the Drupal group. But at least we know where we stand now.

Is this perhaps a misunderstanding?

The messages from skyred, litwol, and likewhoa above were posted before the drupalnyc issue was settled (and redirected to drupal-nyc).

Since that issue was settled I don't think anyone has proposed referring to a non-drupal channel from this group.

If anyone is planning such, I would just reiterate that non drupal channels shouldn't be advertised from a drupal group. That makes sense right?

These posts were made weeks

These posts were made weeks ago, before anything was settled and the issue has been resolved, yes? So I think that perhaps this thread should be closed?

Also any additional comments pertaining to other topics in this thread are just confusing the point, if there even is one.

I really did NOT want to start a thread just to post this, but given the events that transpired on IRC involving threats (to be clear: these were threats made in a Drupal channel by a random non-Drupal IRC person) I thought people might be interested in this upcoming event:
