OK, I've made an executive decision. :-) If this location/time doesn't work for everyone we can always schedule another. I'm certainly up for more than one meetup. So, this one will be on Sunday, December 2 at 1 p.m. at Mayorga Coffee in Silver Spring. Obviously it can last as long as people want to hang out.
Mayorga Coffee
8040 Georgia Ave.
Silver Spring, MD 20910

- about 5 min. walk from Silver Spring metro stop
- parking lot behind for those driving
They have a small breakout room that we should try to stake out if we can, but if not they have lots of space around. They have food, beer, coffee and free wi-fi.
Since this meetup was precipitated by someone asking to meet up for some good overview information about Drupal I'm thinking that we could do a presentation on what is new in Drupal 6 (which will have a Beta 4 release out on December 1.) Then we can do a number of things, the first of which that comes to mind is a bit of Q & A for site building with Drupal and also working on doing testing and bug hunting to help get Drupal 6 out the door. Everyone of any skill level can help out!

Oh and...
by "we could do a presentation on what is new in Drupal 6" I mean I will unless others are dying to do it. :-)

Good, I like executive decisions.
I am returning from a camping trip and may be able to catch the tale end. (3PM is better but you can't please everyone.) I live in SS so if you need any help in making arrangements let me know. I also have a projector and 3 macbooks if that is useful.

Also a fan of executive decisions...
Looking forward to the December meetup.
I thought I saw that others were open to more than one session during the December timeframe. Count me in, as well.

I'll Try
I'll try to make this date. Saturday's are usually better for me. I'll hopefully have a chance to meet everyone there and participate in answering questions for people. I've already given assistance to one person interested in this meeting; anyone needing some help immediately is welcome to contact me via the contact form. Just include your phone number and I'll give you a call in the evening most likely.

I attended the meetup. It
I attended the meetup. It was quite enjoyable to speak with several people who all understood drupal during the same time. I'm still thinking about how I need to implement the advertising website I am working on; however that will probably iron itself out over the next few weeks once I get my GHOP project completed.
Andy Laken and I were able to talk for quite a while on best drupal methods; and that definitely gave me some incite regarding data output sanitizing. Definitely other memorable individual their.
Considering it was a 2.5 hour drive to DC, and a 2 hour drive back (have to love living in a tourist traffic area) plus 5 hours at the drupal meetup I'm going to head to sleep.
