January (drinking) Drupal Meetup: Lightening Talks and Beer
Next Tuesday, the 22nd of January, we will start mixing Drupal with drinking like the old days. Come join us from 7pm until 9pm-ish at Be Bar (1318 9th Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 p (202) 232-7450). It's right by the convention center so will be easy for the after work crowd to get to and with free wifi it will be great for lighting talks. We will bring a mini projector, so start thinking about quick 5 minute egg timer demos. Like normal, there will be 6 of them. The quick demos will start around 7:15 and just go for 30 minutes. Post your presentation ideas below!
A big thanks to Greg Lavallee over at Community IT Innovators (CITI) for finding the space. He has scored us a good happy hours deal for the whole time. $3 Peroni pints and Half-Priced Candy Themed Martinis. Come thirsty, the first round of drinks is on Development Seed.
It will be great to cheers to a exciting new year and one that will be huge for everyone involved with Drupal. I hope to see lots of new faces. For new folks, DC meet-ups are really friendly for developers and non-developers alike and are a great opportunity to see what other people are working on and trade stories.

BeBar has been a great venue for all kinds of unusual meetups, media experiments, and the like. Oh, and it's a great little hipster bar with less attitude than Halo. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Great Meetup tonight! +1 vote for weeknights in a social setting. I'd like to make it to one of these weekend ones, too, but I'm frequently out of town on weekends and when I'm not, I often just want to veg out :-)
