Hello, new Drupal association board member Narayan Newton, just calculated that there are 16 000 subscribers to the Drupal Planet feed. Unfortunately, the marketing team lacks a way to get Drupal marketing messages out to those bloggers.
If you are one of these bloggers, please subscribe to this group. If you know one of those bloggers please leave a comment on their blog asking them to subscribe to the Drupal marketing group.
I'll use the email push feature sparingly. We've got two major events happening Drupalcon Boston, and Drupal 6. It would help a lot if we had 200 bloggers and 16 000 subscribers helping to get the message about Drupalcon and Drupal 6 out.
Please contact me if you are interested in helping me reach out to these 200 bloggers on Drupal planet.

What about putting a link to
What about putting a link to the drupalcon-Website in the top center block on drupal.org that reads something like "Meet the Drupal Community in Boston" and when the winner of the logo contest is drawn put the logo on drupal.org too. People who blog about drupal might follow the example and put up the probably very cool looking logo on their sites too.

76/200 Planet Drupal bloggers contact information
Drupalcon is in a little over 5 weeks. Drupal 6 is about to come out.
It would be nice if we had official Drupal marketing messages, combined with the contact information for all Drupal planet bloggers. Drupal planet has 16 000 subscribers and drives significant traffic to many of these blogs. It would be great if we could have a couple hundred personalized blog posts that also cover some key messages about Drupal 6.
Anyone have a couple hours to help gather contact information for planet drupal bloggers? If so, let me know.

To gain more support allow linking with a logo of your site or just url linking. There are lots of webmasters on the net that would jump at the chance, and with that encourage them to pass your link along. If you allow my link I will happliy put your link on my site. http://www.simplemoneyinfo.com. Look on my site and your link will be there. There is an old saying "You scratch my back and I'll scratch YOURS".

If the purpose is to solely gain backlinks and thus traffic, that doesn't work anymore with google. Matter of fact, if the site linking to a Drupal page is not somehow related to it, in the end the Drupal page could lose some weight in ranking.
Linked images are always a good idea when blogging . Images are a better call to action than just a link.
