Theming ninja
assistance with files in Drupal 5.x
Hi all,
I need some help with the following situation.
User A uploads a file that only User B is allowed to see. I want to have User A easily upload the file and then, via a view, have User B access the new file.
I have already turned of private files in Drupal to enable the first level of security but I don't know how to easily set up the modules/permissions to have User B (or User A) access the file.
Thanks in advance,
E/.

Call for Help; Improve usability in drupal 6
Chris Messina's (aka Factory Joe) review of drupal 6 is a big contribution to drupal usability. I have highlighted about 50 actionable issues that have been raised and/or discussed through this review. Most of them are trivial changes for drupal 6, but are key usability improvements. Many are simply improving the help text. Some are larger tasks that require more work and changes and should probably wait for drupal 7.

Theming for fun and profit. | Hachette-Filipacchi
The Digital team at Hachette-Filipacchi (UK) are working on a cool rich internet application for their teen magazine Sugar which makes use of Drupal in new ways. We are actively seeking a ninja Drupal themer to help achieve our vision of creating a unique one of its social networking application by doing what it takes to get it there from hands-on coding to supporting and providing guidance to our Tech team of experienced Drupal & CSS developers.
Welcome to Issue Triage!
As it says in the group description:
As of December 2006, there are 1500 active issues in core and almost 10000 total active issues, giving the false impression that Drupal is buggy, unreliable and unresponsive. Join the ITWG to help counteract this!
... "ITWG" being the Issue Triage Working Group (copying the IETF is lame? yes). This is not a group for the developers who squash bugs; this is a group for the obsessive-compulsive types who don't want to contribute patches, but would like to help manage the issue queue. No one seems to be doing this at the moment, but it's a job that needs doing.
Drupal Developer Needed For New Referral-Tracking Tool
Unity08, a new political movement based in Denver, is looking for a Drupal consultant or shop to help us develop a new tool that we're calling the "multiplier". In short, this tool would allow our supporters to refer their friends and then receive credit for the number of successful referrals. In addition, on a personal profile page supporters could view a map that displays their referrals (with 6 degress of separation) like ForwardTrack and to follow up with friends who haven't yet joined. Check out stopglobalwarming.com and jerrybrown.com to get an idea of what we're looking for.
We've written requirements for this tool, but we'd also look to your expertise to help us make it even better!
DRUPAL/CivicSpace based website - Forum for a Democratic Future needs a programmer
Help - Wanted -- a Progressive Programmer who wants to join a fun political group.
A group of progressive Democrats in Denver have convened a new nonprofit organization, Forum for a Democratic Future, to discuss issues and challenges facing the nation and what a progressive response who look like. Each month we gather to discuss an issue, review background material and come up with a policy statement. We are a grassroots, member-driven organization who believe that people, not elected officials can best answer the question -- what does the Democratic Party stand for?
We created a CivicSpace web platform to host our online activities and serve as a virtual meeting space and work space. But we are over-whelmed in terms of our tech savvy and what we want the website to do. Right now we want to improve the mail handling function, add some rating and voting functions, and improve the organization of the material. We are also interested in the possibility of an online whiteboard. If you have an interest in learning more or helping out with this exciting group, check out our website and register to join -- http://www.demforum.org
