crowdsourcing

This week I re-launched AdaptiveThemes as the first site to crowd source commercial Drupal themes. Sounds like a radical idea and it probably is. I seen crowdsourcing work for a number of other high profile design projects and I believe these crowd sourced themes can be a huge win for Drupal users and the Drupal designer and themer communities.

The concept is strait forward:

1. Designers upload designs
2. Themers convert the designs into beautiful Drupal themes
3. We sell them and split the profits 50/50, designer gets half, themer gets half

I don't want to start an event thread here but still want to give a shout out to the HKDUG. This Saturday, May 2nd, I'm organizing an event called "Hong Kong International Design and Innovation Forum". It will be hosted at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) in Shek Kip Mei from 2 - 5 pm. Please check out the event web page and help spread the word.
