Event: Broward Drupal Meetup - Gregg Shanefelt presents: Gatsby/static Site Generators - Wed August 14th, 2019

Start:
2019-08-14 19:00 - 21:00 America/New_York
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

This month, Gregg Shanefelt ( https://www.macchiatomarketing.com/ ) will be talking about GatbyJS/static site generators. Static site generators can play nicely with Drupal and make it easier to take advantage of the speed, security, and scalability of static sites. This is one approach many people are considering for making their sites faster.

Our Dunkin' Doughnuts location that we have been using since April 2010 is remodeling the next few months, so until we find a new location, we will have all remote meetups. In other words, this month will be 100% remote.

We also spent some time answering other questions.

We had three remote users and zero in person.

Relativity for DrupalCamps (Part 1) - Broward Drupal Meeting Minutes - Wed May 8th, 2019

This month, Jay talked about using his Relativity (https://jay-epstein.com/relativity) methodology for building a DrupalCamp site. He started out by defining what the stakeholders want to build: "I am building a Drupal 8 website so that DrupalCamp organizers and their volunteers can promote their upcoming camp."

He went on to talk about how machine names allow you to define back-end identification and allow for label changes at any time. After that, he went on to talk about the data model, including how to make decisions about the components that make up the site:

Virtual meetup research from DrupalCon Seattle community summit

Hey everybody,

On Tuesday of DrupalCon Seattle week I attended the Community Summit. One of the (literal) roundtable discussions I was involved with was for virtual meetups. I was going email a braindump directly to Adam Varn (the current coordinator of Florida's upcoming virtual meetup initiative), but I figured it would be more valuable to post it here to gather (hopefully) additional feedback.
