Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp (GLADCamp)

This is the planning group for facilitating organization and team-building around GLADCamp 2015 and future GLADCamp conferences.

Our inaugural GLADCamp, a DrupalCamp serving the Greater Los Angeles Drupal community, was March 7, 8 & 9, 2014, at the Hilton Pasadena & Convention Center.

   Conference Website: http://gladcamp.org
   Twitter: http://twitter.com/GLADCamp
   Working Group: http://groups.drupal.org/gladcamp
   Issue Queue: http://drupal.org/project/issues/gladcamp

This group provides the basic groupware collaboration tools that GLADCamp organizers need, such as discussions, wiki pages and polls, is highly specific to GLADCamp and will help keep the volume of email notifications down in other groups. Join us!

We also wish to reduce bottlenecks and use public Drupal.org infrastructure for this planning process rather than use privately-hosted resources such as Redmine, Open Atrium, etc., and encourage transparency and collaboration with the larger Drupal community.

Downtown Drupal Meetup at Droplabs and via Webcast on September 2, 2014: Show & Tell and

Start:
2014-09-02 19:00 - 21:00 America/Los_Angeles
Organizers:

Greater Los Angeles Drupal The 1st Tuesday of the month is coming up again and it's time for another Downtown Drupal Meetup! Join us at Droplabs near Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 between 7-9pm Pacific. This meetup is free.

Those who would like to attend remotely are welcome to join us via webcast.

Are you new to Drupal or the Downtown Drupal meetup? Come learn about Drupal and how others like yourself are using it for their project, business or organization. We promise not to talk down to you.

At this meetup we're having another Drupal Show & Tell. After some quick introductions and light news and announcements, we'll be going into 5-minute presentations (called lightning talks) on the projects that each person is working on. We won't be able to get to everyone, but everyone who attends will be expected to present on something.

Did you recently attend a great Drupal or tech event that you want to tell us about? Are you currently having a problem that you need help with? Did you solve a problem recently and now have a solution to share with the group? You'll have up to 5 minutes to present and then up to 5 more minutes for Q&A with the other attendees. We'll be using a chess clock to make sure that everyone has enough time.

That's right, it's like Drupal speed chess! (The difference, of course, is that we're not really competing. We're here to share and learn and not "smack down" anybody.)

Did you present at GLADCamp 2014? Please share your slides!

Pasadena Media, one of our GLADCamp 2014 media sponsors, recorded nearly all of GLADCamp, including the keynotes, presentations and several interviews. They've offered to embed the presenters' slides into the session videos. How cool is that? All we need to do is get those slides over to them.

GLADCamp Rebrands as VLADCamp; Focuses on "Drupal for Evil"

VLADCamp 2014

A new look for the Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp has been unveiled. “VLADCamp” is the new name of the conference, co-organized by Greater Los Angeles Drupal organizing team member Christefano Reyes, who announced the name as it epitomizes the goals for the organization moving forward.

“GLADCamp was originally envisioned as being the Drupal community's marquee event of the year that heavily focuses on the needs of non-profits, education and civic engagement. After trying 'Drupal for Good' this year, we decided that 'Drupal for Evil' would be more fun,” he explained.
