Creating a new account is currently not possible.

Hi,
I've decided to drop the phpforum module by the Russian guy VB, and go on with your module, I've downloaded Drupal 5.7 and phpBB 3.0.0, with the latest version of your module.
I've added the phpbb forum software under drupal folder as mentioned and added the module file under modules folder. So the layout now is:
/public_html/ --> Contains Drupal files installed on the root of the public_html folder so Drupal is displayed on the website home page.
/public_html/forum/ --> Contains phpbb 3.0.0 forum files.
/public_html/modules/phpbb/ --> Contains the phpbb module files.
Drupal installed fine with admin account drupal then applied instructions fine, then created another account and gave it full access role.
Then installed phpbb as normal with phpbb account as an admin, then applied the setting mentioned in the instructions, but when I was trying to register a new account for my self then give it full access I've got an error telling:
"Creating a new account is currently not possible."
So what could be wrong?
shall I upload drupal files only, then install it, then upload phpbb files then install it, then upload module files then apply it?
is it the reason for such an error?
but when I set User registration settings - Account activation: disable, when I set this to None / By User / By Admin, I can register a new account, so how could it be like that, I am really confused that instruction said that it should set to disabled.
Did I got any thing wrong here?
This is where I am now on the instructions process so far.
So any one may help me please.
Thanks

"Creating a new account is

"Creating a new account is currently not possible" is usually due to an incomplete phpBB installation, like not having removed the install directory, but it could be something else here. Don't diverge from the instructions (creating Drupal account after the admin), you now have an account with user id 2 in Drupal, which overlaps with the phpbb user.

It should not be possible to create accounts in phpBB because Drupal would never learn about them. All users must be created by Drupal and created in phpBB's database by the module.

Why this page reporting 404 error

Well,
Now I am on this step of the installation process http://drupal.i1media.no/drupal+phpbb/testing where I am testing the installation successfully status.
I do not know how to run this diagnostic at all because there isn't such file structure at all.
As you can see above the structure for the domain for drupal and phpbb does not have anything like the one mentioned in instructions http://yourdomain.com/drupal/phpbb/diagnostic OR http://yourdomain.com/drupal/phpbb/bypass
There isn't such paths at all to run this diagnostic.
Please advise
Thanks

The paths are created by

The paths are created by Drupal's menusystem when you install the module, after you have activated clean URLs.

It translates to http://yourdomain.com/drupal/index.php?q=phpbb/diagnostic

Another problem with the users role in drupal

MGadAllah's picture

Now after every thing in integration is done, I want to add full access to a user to used it later on for the drupal and phpbb3 as well. I've created the role and titled it admin with full access. Then when i pick the user I want to add this role to, and as soon as I hit save configurations it takes me to the user page in the phpbb3 forum.
Any way to solve this issue.
Thanks

In configuration.inc.php ,

MGadAllah's picture

oops! another thing just happened, after I added full access to the account MGadAllah in both drupal and phpbb, I can log in fine to drupal using the account MGadAllah, and when I go to forum I found that I am still logged in, and MGadAllah is an administrator and root admin and group leader for group administrators, but when I try to log in to admin control panel using the account MGadAllah I've got a message telling that I must reauthunticate my admin account so I must re-enter my password again, but the problem now that when I enter the password I've got an error telling:
"You have specified an incorrect password. Please check your password and try again. If you continue to have problems please contact the Board Administrator."
Please advise.
Thanks

Your passwords may be out of

arkepp's picture

Your passwords may be out of sync because of your previous problems.

Try setting the password again through the Drupal profile, and then logging in to the ACP.

Note that I've always made my superusers "founders" in phpBB, I haven't tested the other security levels much.

Thanks buddy, problem

Thanks buddy, problem solved.... Honestly this place showed a great support and I am glad that I've picked this module because support is more important then the module itself ;)

Drupal account creation / password problems

mad_medusa's picture

Hello,

I am new to Drupal and am having problems creating a new Drupal account. Obviously I'm here now but the password sent to me via email said that I can only use it once and to change the password once I've logged in. When I select "my account" I don't see any option for doing this. If I log out (or it happens inadvertently) I am concerned that I will not be able to log in again.

I was only able to finally be able to post this after trying the registration again with my gmail account. I tried registering using my yahoo email account and no confirmation email ever came to my inbox so that I could log in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
