nope. never even touched .NET... the "D'Arcy Norman dot net" is just an extremely uncreative version of the URL itself (darcynorman.net), taking a queue from Wil Wheaton, I suppose...

Drupal in Edmonton

sgomez's picture

Hello.
I just started using Drupal and I love it. I come from a Dot.net background and I am now learning PHP.

An experienced programmer friend of mine told me that Dot.net is way better than PHP (he learned PHP and then moved to dot.net). He says PHP is a poor man's language. I sort of know what he means (being scripted vs compiled) but I want to know if others feel that way.

pS. I started the Edmonton group to see if there are others in Edmonton.

Thanks.

I'm in Calgary and have been doing Drupal more than a year. But recently I have been busy with school at SAIT, haven't done any Drupal work. I agree we should get together sometime to discuss and learn..

I work at SAIT using drupal

I work at SAIT using drupal (I have one drupal site under my belt and am working on a second, more ambitious one). Both in D6. I have also played around with D7 a bit.

I have just started to get into the Drupal Community (attending Drupal Camp Alberta and the Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit).
