Some very interesting stats have just emerged about the freelance and contract market for CMS developers and designers.
In its quarterly market report, freelance site DoNanza discovered that even though WordPress devs, designers and SEO pros are in greater demand than their Drupal or Joomla counterparts — and even though WordPress outnumbers Drupal and Joomla in the number of projects for each CMS — Drupal web professionals on average make around twice what WordPress pros make per project.

FOSS
FOSS projects arn't really about money (Although I think joomla is more COSS) . I do not mean to sound harsh but if you want to make money in IT (and there is a hell of lot to make) it might be a better idea to work for activision, SAP or microsoft ( asp is alot of phun :) . If you want to make a change ..well thats a difference story. Its quite sad when some "e" companies charge extra for stuff they get for free, and while i have no problem with people making money, it's just rude.
I dont think the question is who is making more money but rather who is creating better projects? who is leading in innovative code and design? *its drupal
to quote jesus "the love of money is the root of all evil"

What if I charge less?
I'm offering a migration from Joomla for a corporate site included gratis with a 1 year maintenance contract. I wonder if this is under pricing myself? I just know I'm going to have an easier time with drush...
Any idea where I can find pricing benchmarks for South Africa?
