Big news: Addison Berry from Lullabot (you may also know her from Docs Lead for the last two years fame...) is using the last of her Knight Foundation grant to sponsor a big Drupal Docs sprint in Vancouver!!!
This full day sprint will focus on both putting the finishing touches on the core Drupal 7 documentation, as well as any needed work on the API docs, and mentoring beginners on how to contribute to the Drupal Documentation project.
Drupal 7 core maintainer Angie Byron (aka webchick), hardcore awesome dev Dmitri Gaskin (aka dmitrig01), and longtime prolific core dev Karoly Negyesi (aka chx), are also planning to join us, time/work permitting. Leading members of the Documentation Team will be coming from all over North America to join in on the fun and Rock the Docs:
- Addison Berry (Documentation Lead)
- Neil Drumm (Drupal.org Redesign Architect, API docs contributor)
- Randy Fay (Longtime core/module contributor, and Docs and Infrastructure Team member)
- Jennifer Hodgdon (Core contributor, and API and Core Documentation coordinator)
- Lee Hunter (Online Documentation structure coordinator)
- Myself, Ariane Khachatourians (Docs issue queue maintainer, Online Documentation content coordinator)
- Lisa Rex (Drupal.org Redesign Project Manager - Content Lead, Redesign Documentation Liaison)
WHEN: Saturday, December 11, 2010 - 10am-5pm PST
WHERE: The Flack Block building, 163 W. Hastings St. (at Cambie) [Map]
Hollyhock Conference Room, located on the 3rd floor. Buzz 304 outside to get in. (Use the elevator to go to the 3rd floor and take an immediate left until you reach the room.)
WHO: Everyone! There will be work for people of all levels to do here - hardcore coders and newbies alike, we will happily put you to work! (It will help a lot if you have access to a Drupal 7 site, please try to do this ahead of time, but if you can't, come on over and we'll try and get you set up at the sprint.)
If you're new to contributing, there's a good starter guide that I wrote for a previous sprint here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/29226 (with updated links)
Many thanks to the great guys at The Jibe and to Tides Canada for subsidizing this great space for the sprint (the room is available for public rental, as well - info here).
Please sign up if you're planning on coming so we have an idea of how many people are going to turn up! Rumour is there will be tasty food and beverages supplied as well... Drupal Docs and free food, how can you go wrong?! Also, if you're not local, please do join us via IRC in the #drupal-docs channel.

Possible game day on Sunday?
I'm in Vancouver until the 5:45 train on Sunday afternoon, and it seems as though chx, webchick, and I are all board gamers... Maybe we should have a gaming day on Sunday? Not sure when/where...
