Hi all. I am a web developer at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. For DrupalCon Chicago, I would like to organize a panel discussion around healthcare for the Business and Strategy track.
Using the submission guidelines, I want the session to address these questions:
- Show and Tell: What hospitals are using Drupal, and for what?
- Electronic Medical Records: how/can we use Drupal to access EMRs?
- Security: What are specific concerns with respect to HIPPA and patient privacy?
- Integration: What are the opportunities and challenges of vendor and legacy systems integration.
- Social Media: How can the social features of Drupal be leveraged by healthcare marketers
- Barriers to Drupal adoption: How to make the case for Drupal at your institution and address institutional resistance, vendor relationships, talent etc.
If you are interested in participating in the panel, please send me an email at manning@nmh.org with your name, name of your organization, role, and Drupal experience. If you think of any other questions you would like to address, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks!
Manning

Great Topic
I'd love to see these questions addressed. I think you've nailed the major issues. I would like to see an overall discussion of the value-added prospect of using Drupal in the health and medical sectors. That would certainly help reduce some of the barriers to adoption.

Follow Up !!!
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the DrupalCon Chicago, as I am based in RTP, NC. But I would like to learn more about this. As a company we've done few projects in healthcare space and would like to get deeper and build expertise in the space.
Please do share your notes, slides or anything that would be helpful to the community.
