We are planning the next Meetup in New Orleans Thursday, December 2nd 7pm. Now time to settle on a location.
We definitely need beer and internet access and preferably food. There is a list of WiFi restaurants in New Orleans from Urban Spoon: http://www.urbanspoon.com/New-Orleans I vote for Cooter Brown's it has all the requirements and is pretty easy to find. The Bulldog has a nice beer selection. Both Cooter Brown's and The Bulldog have confirmed that WiFi is available.
I am open to suggestions.

I vote cooter browns. There
I vote cooter browns. There is a lot more space there as long as we are not on a big game night we should be good.
What time and where
Has this been decided?

2nd meeting follow up
I am very glad I attended and the enthusiasm and knowledge of those in attendance was great. Cooter Browns is not a good choice for future meetings as it was too noisy but served us well for the first New Orleans meeting.
There were 8 of us attending and most were make a living at Drupal. It seemed that we all had at least two plus years experience and exposure to Drupal starting with version 5.
People in attendance were:
James Capparell (me)
Hank Yates
Jeff Diecks
Doug Miller
Brian Berlin
Sabrina Schmidt
Eric Schmidt
Jason Want
Sabrina and Eric own their own web business and have been implementing web stuff since mid 90s. They just returned to New Orleans after moving to Tennesse after Katrina.
Hank does web sites mostly in Drupal for state of Louisiana Fish and Wildlife - nice gig.
Brian Berlin works for bClip out of Baton Rouge.
Jeff Diecks works for mediacuurrent and moved to Baton Rouge fro Georgia where he was also involved in starting a Drupal group from just a few people to a very large enthusiastic group.
I have a few commercial sites I converted for local businesses to Drupal and spend my time constantly playing with it and now learning iPhone/iPad development.
I am sorry to say I didn't get details for the others. Please add your input via comments.
I was happy to see the turn out and look forward to really getting this thing off the ground. Next meeting is in Baton Rouge and mention was made of ride sharing for those of us in New Orleans which I could definitely use since I can't attend otherwise.
Best to all
