Image X Media is looking for a talented full-time web developer with a passion for integrating innovative technologies with beautiful design. The position requires creative thinking and an eye for design. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for taking a web project from the development phase to the final product.
Responsibilities:
- Working with a team (designers, client manager, project manager, and other developers) to create compelling and cutting edge web sites and web applications.
- Responsible for turning design and user interface mockups into functional web site.
- Responsible for utilizing and extending our content management system (www.drupal.org) where necessary.
- Custom programming and web application development.
- Testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing client sites.
- Should prove to be a valuable technical resource for other team members.
Requirements:
- Independence, willingness to learn and problem solving skills are a must.
- At least two years of related work experience/education.
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, and new challenges.
- Ability to communicate and work as part of a team.
Technical Skills:
- Very familiar with W3C Web Standards and CSS based design
- Dynamic/Database Driven Development (PHP/MySQL)
- Experience with Content Management Systems. Knowledge of the Drupal API, themes and assets.
- JavaScript, especially jQuery/AJAX, is an asset
- Macromedia Flash/Action Scripting is an asset.
This position will start as contract. The wage is $18-25/hour
First preference will be for local residents.
