Rideshare from Vancouver BC or Seattle WA to BADCamp

I am volunteering at BAD Camp but my car is currently out of commission.

Is anyone driving down to BADCamp and want to take a ridesharer?
I can help by paying for part of the fuel costs. Thanks

Vancouver Drupal User Group Updates

Hey Vancouver Drupalers!

Just wanted to make you aware of a couple of new developments with the Vancouver Drupal Users Group. As many of you know, Dale McGladdery has decided to step down from his role of group coordinator and I'd like to take the time to publicly thank him for all his work in helping this group be what it is today! The second thing I wanted to make you aware of is that Glenn Hilton, the President of ImageX Media, will be joining me to help organize topics/events and promote the group. One of the first steps for improving our promotions is that we've decided to create an extension of the group on Meetup.com as a way to better manage group RSVPs and spread our reach out to others who may not be aware of our main VanDug site. Meetup.com offers a great means for promotions and also for building community through photosharing, feedback threads, etc. However please note that the Meetup.com site is NOT intended to replace our VanDug site, but rather just be a tool to supplement it as events will continue to be cross promoted on various sites.

I know that Andy is planning on going, and I think I'll be up there as well.

Contrib Sprint - Newbies!

Here is a bunch of information to get started with if you are planning on attending the contrib sprint this weekend, and consider yourself a non-coder/beginner/newb. If you can get through prepping all of this before the sprint, you will have a head start once you get there, otherwise I will direct people to go through this info when they are getting started.

IRC and Twitter

Hey all -

Just another PSA here, to let everyone know there's now a Twitter account set up if you want to follow for meetup reminders, etc. at http://twitter.com/vandug. The group admins all have access to the password, and if one of us gets fancy, we'll set up some kind of hashtag retweeter system.

New Groups Pages!

Hey Drupal fans!

I just wanted to walk you through some changes I just made to our Group's pages. Since the group was first set up, g.d.o has installed <a href="http://drupal.org/project/panels>panels to allow for more configurable user group pages, and after seeing what the LA Group and Aegir Group have done, I thought it was about time to spruce things up!

To outline what's been added:

Mozilla Service Week

I just cam across this: http://serviceweek.mozilla.org: "Mozilla Service Week [Sept. 14-21] is all about community – your community.
