Hello quiz people,

I'm just starting with drupal and it's kinda rocking my world. I'm feeling confident I'll be able to use it to develop the software for my dissertation research, which will include a quiz component.

Right now I'm just playing around, getting familiar with the software. I've downloaded the quiz module and am looking forward on getting up to speed on it. I will probably want to begin work in earnest within the next month or so. I've downloaded Drupal 6.x and the latest quiz module. However, it may turn out that the Drupal 7 database features will be particularly helpful for me, as I'll need to collect a lot of data on my research subjects. (This data will include background information, quiz performance data, as well as performance on the module I'll be developing for my research.)

Here are my questions: Will the latest Quiz module work with Drupal 7? Should I hold off development until I can start in earnest on 7? What is the word on the street on the bugginess of Drupal 7? Compatibility? I understand it's been tested a lot, but I've never been an early adopter -- I usually prefer to wait until the dust has settled. OTOH I can't really afford to waste the next few months developing something I'll have to toss for a new version. Since I haven't started yet, it might be better for me to begin with 7 in the first place.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

Heidi

Quiz 5

Hi hidibk,

Quiz 5 will be the version of Quiz for Drupal 7, and work has just started on it. You can have a look at the thread here: http://drupal.org/node/714072

Quiz is a very big module, and many huge changes and new features will also go into Quiz 5, in addition to the porting to d7. As time is scarce for the people involved, my bet is that it will take some time (2+ months), but it's impossible to say a date for sure.

If I were you I would either first help out with the port to d7 if you have programming skills, or start at d6. You will be able to port your data from Quiz 4 (d6) to Quiz 5 (d7).

As for Drupal 7 in itself my impression is that it is a rock solid release, and the remaining bugs that are doomed to be in it will probably be fixed in 7.1 / 7.2.

Documentation?

Hello - also, do the admins know that the drupal site link to the quiz documentation (http://quizdoc.caucusllc.com/) gets a 403 and the FAQ's (http://quizdoc.caucusllc.com/node/5) get a 500?

Could you please check the links?

Thanks,
Heidi
