The Xplain Hosting Drupal 7 Quickstart seminar is aimed at programmers already familiar with Drupal 6, and serves the need organisations have to quickly upskill their staff to take advantage of the innovative new cost saving features of Drupal 7.
As Berend de Boer from Xplan Hosting explains: “I’ve been coding Drupal since early 2004, and though Drupal 7 is similar to 6, finding my way around and learning all the hidden secrets took a great deal of time. Because Drupal 7 is only in release candidate status, there’s not much information on the web yet, and this means that you need to find your own way through the code base. This can take a programmer weeks, but we’ve developed a training seminar that can teach all the the most important changes in just a few hours.”
The seminar will look at the Drupal 7 architecture and why it is so different from Drupal 6, cover the differences in theming, module development and how to give back to the Drupal community in the form of patches.
