Theming Sessions

dudenhofer's picture

I'd be happy to do the Intro to Theming and/or Subthemes sessions that I did for the last Drupal Camp. And help out with any others... Do we have any idea what sessions have been proposed yet? Are we breaking them up between topic categories like we did for the last Drupal Camp?

I noticed there's a blank schedule for Sunday, does that need to be filled?

Misc sessions

terkhorn's picture

Hi folks,

I haven't really come out of my shell in terms of interacting with the broader (non-IU) linux and drupal community in Indiana, but this looks like a good chance to do so. I'm definitely interested in hearing a breakdown of what drupal sessions are desired for the Sat Mar 26 gig. I've designed several websites for IU and some for private clients, as well as having a strong PL background, and could likely cover something worthwhile.

Preliminary Schedule

dougvann's picture

I see that 10 to 10:30 slot on other schedules is reserved for the opening keynote session. So I 'm going to consider our camp to be a 6 session camp rather than 7.

Here's my proposal for the schedule and this is flexible. I am doing what I did for Indy camp in giving a 3session systematic expose of Drupal for the 1st three session. We don't have a LOT of sessions proposals coming in so me taking three is in order. However, I'd be happy to bring this down to two intro sessions if we find that more individuals are wanting in on the action.
9:00 10:30 - Registration near our room durring the keynote which is in another room.
10:30 11:30 - Doug Vann : Intro to Drupal, How does it work and why are so many famous organizations, governments, and companies using it?
11:30 12:30 - Dou Vann : Custom content and fields
12:30 13:30 - Doug Vann : Lists and Pages, getting the data out of your database and onto the page.
13:30 14:30 - L U N C H
14:30 15:30 - George Demet : How to sell Drupal as a solution to your organization
15:30 16:30 - Aaron Dudenhofer : Intro to Theming
16:30 17:30 - Neil Hastings : Hmmm I can't find a list of who is speaking on what at but I do know that Neil is speaking in one of the regular LinuxFest rooms at this time and the organizer has not scheduled our room ontop of this, thus... We shall all join the awesomeness of Neil. :-)
17:30 18:30 - Final session for the DrupalCamp side. I'd like to give Felix [aka Terkhorn] this slot. It sounds like he might to a casestudy on one of the sites he has built.

And again.. the quickest way to make a whole for someone else is to drop me down to 2 intro sessions. In Nashville TN camp I did 5 and in Ashville NC I did 6 but that doesn't mean I need to do that here. :-)

Give me your feedback and as soon as we lock this down I'm going to press. I wil get a special place on the linuxfest site set up to showcase what we're doing then I'll get to work reaching out to the usual suspects who need to know this stuff.
I'm going to give this till end of day Tuesday then we'll set this [or its edited version] in stone.

THNX!

Still time for another

Brandonian's picture

Still time for another session? I approached Doug at some point during Drupalcon about doing a "Drupal as a Framework" talk, but it was pretty hectic, so I totally understand if it got lost in the static.

I'll get ready!

Hi Doug,

Thanks for carving off some time (17:30 to 18:30) for me to speak. Case study sounds reasonable. I'll start prepping!
