Multiple Events, a Single Site

I am interested in using COD on a site which will, among other things, provide information for multiple events (annual meetings) which will themselves be constituted by multiple sessions. It appears that so far, COD is really meant for single event/single site. I have already begun tweaking the default view to sort by year, etc., in order to tailor output by year, etc. However, I since I am not familiar with the module yet, I thought I might ask some questions about the best way to go about doing this. I will of course share my modified views if people would like them, and I am willing to write up at least draft documentation since I will have to do so for my clients regardless.

Primary issues:
1. It seems that at least initially, the problem is to link the COD Content types with a single event.
2. For usability, the session creation page should default to timeslots/rooms that are associated with a particular meeting. This just shortens the available dropdowns in creating each element of a session.

Solution attempt #1:
1. Created node reference field in sessions/schedule, references Event nodes, "Associated Event."
2. Added relationship in cod_schedule view, Content: Associated Event.
3. Added argument in cod_schedule view, Date: Node, selected relationship "Associated Event", limited granularity to year, and selected Date fields - "Content: Dates (field_dates) - From date".
4. Selected simple html list for display since "session calendar" creates a table for each day of timeslots, which results in timeslots from other meeting years appearing in the table, even when the sessions themselves are filtered out due to the argument.

At a basic level, this seems to work for me. However, I have not yet attempted to allow signups for events, to think about how to allow session submissions which then become approved sessions, etc.
