How broad geographically are we?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Just curious how broadly geographically this group is, as part of figuring out if there is enough interest for a meetup or the like if there were enough interested in it, and we were concentrated enough to make it not to burdensome to get together.

I'm near Poughkeepsie, which puts me firmly in the Mid-Hudson part of the valley.

I'm in Hyde Park, also near Pok.
I'd be very happy to get together w/ other drupalers in the area. I've been going up to Albany to meet w/ them. The next Albany meetup is on April 9. It would be nice to have a group closer.

Peace,
Vonn

I'm in Larchmont, lower Westchester area. Would be happy to make a short drive north to meetup.

There's also a Westchester users group - for anyone a bit further south. Perhaps we should join forces and host a single meetup in a more centralized location?

Southern Dutchess County

I'm a little south of Pok - Wappingers Falls. Going to the meetups in Kingston was little too far, and Albany is bit much.

I'm also located in Southern Dutchess County, in Hopewell Junction. If were to meet somewhere either in lower Dutchess or lower Putnam County that would be good for the Westchester group and the hudson valley folks. Just a thought.

Millwood - Near Ossining and Mount Kisco

I too would make a drive up to Poughkeepsie as well. Would be a good excuse to stop at HalfTime Beverage. I am also interested in meetups further south.

I would drive to locations within an hour from Kingston for a meeting... Pok, Newburgh, to ALbany Area

Border of Dutchess and Putnam Counties; near Brewster

I would be comfortable going to Poughkeepsie; and I am also regularly in the New Paltz area on the opposite side of the river, so in that vicinity would work for me as well. AKA Kingston, Gardener, Newburgh.

--EDIT--

In order to help facilitate this better, here's a Google Map which we can all place ourselves on. I personally also put my gravatar as the icon and my email as the title; though these steps are really optional - i would encourage people to not use their actual address to put themselves on here - i just picked somewhere close by myself.

Shall we schedule something?

I just attended the Albany Drupal group and it's really helpful to meet with others who are doing similar work face-to-face.

I think enough of us have responded to make it worthwhile for us to get together in the Mid-Hudson, and a couple of the Albany folks might be interested in joining us.

Would anyone object if I book us a meeting space/time in a library in Poughkeepsie?

I'm wondering if there is a preference for a Saturday afternoon, say 4/30 or 5/7 at 2 pm?
Or a weekday evening?
I'm assuming that a weekday morning or afternoon would not work for most, though it would for me.

What say you all?

I'm in for a Saturday

I'm in for a Saturday gathering. As for 4/30 or 5/7 I would choose 5/7.

+1 for Saturday on May 7th

Sounds like a plan

I would prefer not in the morning at all; and chances are for those who have jobs and/or class(es) that weekends would work better (atleast SUNY New Paltz doesn't have weekend classes; I can't speak for Marist and other local colleges though).

As for the timeframe, 2pm I think would work best. I'll be there, presuming something doesn't come up.

sounds good to me

I'm with @maristgeek, 5/7 probably works better, though I'll have to admit that if it's a sunny spring day, I find it very hard to be indoors.

Evening meetups are also a good idea, but maybe something to think about after the first gathering. There are a lot of groups that have pretty successful monthly meetups in the area (http://hvstem.org for ones that I've collected up).
