Years ago I had an Elancer write a module for submitting Mechanical Turk jobs (HITS) from drupal nodes. I've recently updated the code and thought that others may find it useful. Right now it is fine-tuned for transcription jobs, but it could be made more generic.
This module covers only Mechanical Turk, not other Amazon services as does the AWS module.

Seems like a great idea to me. I suggest posting it as a sandbox first and seeing if the AWS module maintainers want to incorporate it as part of their all-purpose module or if they feel it should be its own thing.

I'm new to the process of contributing modules--so forgive the stupid question. How do I submit as a sandbox? Is is as simple as zipping up the module and attaching it to this thread, or is there specific place?

There are instructions for creating a sandbox here:

Hello,
Just stumbled across this post via GOOGLE and wanted to see if you ended up setting up the project or is actively working on it via a sandbox?

GSoC2012
@greggles: Yes. I've been working on a mturk module too. I have a undergrad student who's interested in contributing more code to it. Do you think it's a good idea to submit a GSoC2012 application?

It's definitely got potential. I'm not sure how many people use mturk in the broader world. Having some example use cases might be helpful.

Been watching this thread for a while and excited to see some posts. Working at a large company and after speaking with the MT folks, I can say that this would definitely be a very useful module or integration.

Come to discuss if you are interested.
I am interested in helping if I can
I would like to post "hits" from a website to have bits done by MT.
I would pay a bit to help save a bit of the learning curve, both with the code and using MT practically.
I would need a D7 version.
minimum viable product
I have contributed more code to http://drupal.org/project/mturk. It's now a minimum viable product. You still need some customized code to create HITs, but it's much easier now.
I hope further discussion would continue there for new improvement of the module.
