Some updates from past meetings and a question about Drupalcamp Colorado

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Updates:
1. We're moving towards presentation-based meetings
2. We're considering a more private location with a whiteboard (must also have internet access)
3. It would be nice to have a schedule of future meetings planned in advance

Question:
Is anyone going to Drupalcamp Colorado? I suppose we could carpool it over there - anyone have a van? A drupalvan? http://2011.drupalcampcolorado.org/register

Hi all,

I am working on getting a semi-private location for our next meetup. It has a white board, wireless, and is in Ashland. I will know the status of the space by mid week.

...and, unfortunately I am not going to CO Drupal camp :(

...but, I encourage all who can to go :)

Drupal Camp

Bill Hatch's picture

Has anyone attended a similar event? My question is whether a beginner would be overwhelmed even though there are some events labeled beginner. Also, the registration cost is $25. Is that just to hold a spot or the total cost (I know that doesn't include travel and lodging costs which would be up to each of us).

Another Dumb Question

Bill Hatch's picture

Sometimes when I save my comment it just goes. Other times it gives another page that says I should enter the captcha image. Is there some reason for that difference and if it stops for the captcha image does the comment get sent twice? Like maybe I double clicked the save or something.

I did goto DrupalCon SF last

I did goto DrupalCon SF last year and it was excellent for all levels of users. With a Drupal camp there are less sessions and they can vary greatly in their level. Usually a list of the classes get posted online before the event.

Colorado might be an interesting adventure, but it is a long, long drive.

I am planning on attending the 2011 Pacific NW Drupal Summit in October.

Drupalcon Denver 2012 is

Drupalcon Denver 2012 is during March of next year. We should start thinking about how we can plan on making it to that one!

Good thoughts

I'd like to go to the PNW summit.

So, would we like to pick a meeting date for this month?

23rd?

Seems like Easter is this weekend. The following Sunday is close to the end of the month ;) how about the 23rd?*

*I really don't care if we meet after the 23rd. Just throwing a date out there.

I could second the 23rd

Joe, any news on a possible semi-private location?

If we get a third on this, then we'll go ahead for the 23rd and then find a spot.

Semi-Private Location

joedully's picture

Hi all,

The semi-private location that I was planing on is unfortunately not available :(

There are other options like the Library, but I think that it would be better to have conference room that we can use on a regular basis without reserving/paying. I will put on my thinking cap and make some calls today.

The 23rd works for me :)

I think if we revisit the

I think if we revisit the Standing Stone Brewery on the 23rd, at 11:30AM that would be semi-private, because its a huge place and they have internet. It seemed to be a good environment last time.

Unless there's a huge objection, I'll put the notice out tomorrow sometime.

Standing Stone sounds good to me

They open at 11:30 so we will have many seating options. Also, great if we have over 100 people show up ;D
