I started the discussion about Drupal Camp Asheville in another topic, but it has grown far more about the second topic of the discussion so I'm moving DCAVL talks over here.
We will be having another Drupal Camp here in Asheville. We our going to have our first "official" planning meeting in about two weeks. One of the first tasks on the agenda is going to be WHEN. I would like to compile a list here of other events local and national to help better pick a date.

So far it looks like Late august, early September is the best time. Please keep in mind Asheville is at the top of a mountain so a winter camp in november/december is very hard on people if they wanted to drive in, or even locals if its icy.
I am specifically looking to hear from Boone, NC about their plans before we pick a date, and any other local groups that are planning a camp.
Also, if you have ANY questions, suggestions, or concerns please post them here so we can take them into consideration.
I will have more resources soon for our OA planning site and a wiki on g.d.o for this camps planning documentation.

Are the folks in Boone
Are the folks in Boone planning to have a Drupal Camp this year? It seems excessive to have two camps in WNC every year. It seems like resources would be best pooled and put towards creating one larger, higher-quality camp than two small camps that are inevitably repeating a lot of the same content and pulling from the same attendee pool.
Anyhoo, I would vote for early-mid August (perhaps the 13th or 20th)... that pretty evenly spaces the camp between the Spartanburg and Atlanta camps.
I would love to help out, btw. Design and theming work for the camp site and camp-related swag, perhaps?

Since JP and Chris moved away I'm not sure who is in charge of Boone anymore. I believe its Zach because he said they were having another camp, but haven't heard anything since.

I would like to hear from them before our planning meeting as part of the agenda is to pick a date. Also I would like to know who the faces of Boone are now. Besides @notzach, I have no idea who they are.

I heard back from the CMS team and they are not going to host a camp this year. Let's talk more about it tonight, but it would be great to get folks' input on having a single, WNC camp. Maybe a poll to last year's Boone attendees?
