Hi everyone,
I am writing a CCK price comparison module which will essentially do the following (hopefully!):
- In Administer page, user can choose some stores to be enabled by default (eg Amazon, dabs...), and add more by answering some questions for the spider.
- When adding price comparison to a content type users can then choose which stores to enable.
- A user then creates a node for a specific product, and enters the urls for the stores price_comparison asks for. Suggestions will be made by the module but the user will need to check them.
- The module checks all the site prices as the node is created, and then checks again on cron-based schedule.
Please express an interest if you would use this module, and let me know if you would like to get involved in the development. I will create a Drupal module as soon as something remotely stable appears, or earlier if other contributors join in.
The site it will be initially used on is http://www.smartphone-reviews.co.uk

Though I am not a programmer but will certainly be interested.
I can contribute on ideas and testing, so count me in.

Hi, we would be interesting comparing our ISPs in uganda. We do read code, and fix stuff if it doesnt work. Would be great to pilot your stuff, before you opensource it :-)
This looks promising

Hi, Any progress on this
Hi,
Any progress on this field please?
greetings, Martijn
any updates?
any updates?
I'll fund this...
if anyone is still working on this..
my idea is this:
1) content type, we'll call it "store_item"
- has price field
- can be viewed like any other node
2) content type, we'll call it "store"
- just like any other node, title description, location, etc.
3) each store should be able to select which item it has from a GLOBAL item database, and set a unique value for the price field.
from there im sure you can imagine the possibilities of features like search by lowest price, display the average price of the store_item..
thoughts?
