Hi all,
I need urgent help please, I don't know how, but I broke my access control.
When I am logged in as the admin, I can't do anything on the administration side. Every page that I open shows me only the description of the module but nothing else. For example, if I go to blocks, I don't see the actual blocks list. If I go to users, I don't see the users lists.
The login block is also gone, so when I logged out, I can't log back in again.
I think it has to do with me setting up the login block to be visible only to certain roles yesterday, now I don't know how to restore things back.
And I wanted to show the site to the client today, and now I'm seriously stuck.
Please can someone help?

This happened to me once - and I found out that I was actually logging in with a user account that I'd created. Might be worth logging into your database and double-checking that you're logging in with user id 1.
Otherwise, try uploading fresh drupal files over your old ones and calling update.php
To access the login page, go to www.example.com/user
Sounds like bad php code in your block "page" area.
If you have access to the database (via phpmyadmin or something similar), go to the blocks table. Any custom code is saved in the pages field. Just delete the offending code from that field.

After struggling for 3 hours, creating new installations and what not, I pressed Ctrl+F5 on Firefox, and it started working again. I don't know, no clue what and why. Is Drupal some kind of a magic trick? ;)
Not Drupal is a trick.....
But Firefox did it with CTRL+F5, which not only refreshes the page but also clear the browser cache.
It is a nice feature when you are developing, especially with theming.
