I was wondering if there is any value to tridug having it's own website where drupal collaboration teams in the area could have a quick and easy development space to play with projects, config, module setups, etc. I would envision the homepage running a semi-moderated drupal install, and then allowing groups to run separate installs off subdomains. It wouldn't be for real development, more of a play area, maybe the projects would be scratched every 3-9 months. Are any other regional groups doing this?
Shared hosting w/ unlimited subdomains, emails, diskspace are what... $8 a month now?
The genesis of the idea came from Ian bringing his problem re: CMS @ Durham government and it got me thinking - why not just have a space where the group can mock up a prototype of some of the things he wanted.

Interesting concept
Not a bad idea in theory, basically our own little Drupal Gardens, without the gardens. Someone would need to take charge of routine care and feeding though otherwise it'd turn into a bot farm in short order. If anyone in the group is interested in leading the charge for something like this first steps would be assessing what kind of environment we'd need and finding a credible hosting package. My first thought was maybe getting together with Hot Drupal on this? Feel like doing some legwork?
May I recommend
May I recommend http://webenabled.com/ ? They allow for things like sharing and cloning sites and hosting repositories as well. Really great for groups collaborating and sharing different sites.
