Thanks to Tim for reserving this room for us:

Ulrich Room(113) in the Dyson Center at Marist College for 6/8 from 6pm-8pm.

Parking is available in Lot #14, adjacent to the Dyson Center building - http://www.marist.edu/security/pdfs/parkingmap.pdf

Due to on going construction on Rt. 9 and campus entrances I recommend all members utilize the North Entrance across from McDonald's. Turn into the North Entrance then turn left and follow the road until you see Parking Lot #14 on both the left and right hand side of the road. The Dyson Center is a brick building and the Ulrich Room(113) is located on the 1st floor.

Internet Access will be available. I will post the Event Account credentials on Wednesday prior to the event. Those wishing to have Internet Access will need to download our VPN client prior to arriving on campus. Further instructions will be posted as well.

Vonn did an excellent job opening our eyes to the world of Taxonomy. Hopefully she'll be posting her slides so I will avoid duplicating content.

For cool and helpful modules, here is the list of things that came up:

  • Search 404 - Perform a search on keywords in the URL rather than display a 404 error page.
  • Views clone display - Clone a display in a view so you don't have to recreate similar displays from scratch. Only for Views 2 since the functionality is built into Views 3.
  • Features - A way to package structures like views and content types.
  • Node import - Import content from CSV or TSV.
  • Backup and migrate - Easy database backups.
  • Various performance tweaks.
  • Various aspects of designing sites for mobile use including the Mobile Tools module and the new Mobile User Experience & Design group on g.d.o.
  • Wufoo - Online form builder.

We decided meetings will alternate between having some topic to discuss (even months) and doing site show and tells (odd months).

And the most helpful comment (which I think came from kutter) which came up in a discussion about whether to use modules and tpl changes for effects:

If you cannot get what you want done in 10 minutes, write it yourself.
