After having spent the last few years working almost exclusively with Drupal I'd almost forgotten how ridiculous it can get when dealing with other developers' one-off PHP code.

Say what you will about the community coding standards and code review in general, it's really nice not having to deal with this kind of nonsense on a daily basis.
