Best way to get RSS -> Node?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am looking to import RSS feed items into nodes. FeedAPI and Simple feed are currently being looked at but wondering what the group's thoughts were.

Feed API

Seems to be the best to me. But it depends on what you are doing

If you want to do

If you want to do sophisticated stuff FeedAPI is the one to use. A very interesting add-on is the feed element mapper (http://drupal.org/project/feedapi_mapper) module that allows you to map feed item elements to CCK fields. The latter is not ready for production yet but certainly worth taking into account when evaluating the best solution.

Also for FeedAPI

I think the combo of FeedAPI/Feed Element Mapper/CCK/Views is potentially very powerful.

Definitely feedApi, works

Definitely feedApi, works very well. There's a patch for getting node updates to work, read the issues forum. It has to do with feedapi not updating the vid column of the database. Without the patch, your nodes won't update. Drupal 6.

Here are some posts about that...

However, obviously if you want to get more serious FeedAPI is in your future.
