I am looking to import RSS feed items into nodes. FeedAPI and Simple feed are currently being looked at but wondering what the group's thoughts were.

If you want to do
If you want to do sophisticated stuff FeedAPI is the one to use. A very interesting add-on is the feed element mapper (http://drupal.org/project/feedapi_mapper) module that allows you to map feed item elements to CCK fields. The latter is not ready for production yet but certainly worth taking into account when evaluating the best solution.

Definitely feedApi, works
Definitely feedApi, works very well. There's a patch for getting node updates to work, read the issues forum. It has to do with feedapi not updating the vid column of the database. Without the patch, your nodes won't update. Drupal 6.
