Meeting Summary

  • Reviewed the status of the outstanding issues in the first sprint. Unfortunately, we are 0 for 3.
    1. Placeholder issue is close, but needs blessing from FAPI maintainers.
    2. drupal_add_js() issue still needs work and testing, but thanks to the awesome feedback/review from @effulgentsia, @ericduran it's in better shape.
    3. Adding a Shiv is postponed pending the completion of #2.
  • One of the issues with the first sprint is that it was too focused on developer-centric issues and didn't include many issues for themers. This time around we've added some more accessible issues:
  • We discussed the CSS aspects of the initiative and @johnvsc added ~30 issues and listed them on the CSS clean up page.
  • We discussed that we need to come up with bullet points for a Drupal 8 Markup gate. The process for handling CSS related changes that come up while converting tempaltes will be:
    1. Make the markup changes and tweak whatever is directly affected so that we don't leave anything broken.
    2. Create a follow up issue for cleaning up the CSS (or use an existing issue) to really get things cleaned up in each CSS files.
  • @jbeach Added some new template issues to our template and theme function refactoring queue.
  • @mortendk posted a link to the post he created about cleaning up the CSS.
  • We announced that we secured http://drupal.org/project/html5. It will be used as the official back-port of all the theme-related changes we commit to Drupal 8 in order to allow everyone to preview what's coming and easily review our progress.
