Join us on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 from 1-3PM for a 2-hour meetup at MindComet's offices in Altamonte Springs.

Andrew will be covering creating your first module. The scope of this lesson will be light so don't be afraid if you don't know much php. Andrew will be covering both D6 and D7 for module creation.

If anybody would like to remotely attend let me know and we can set something up.

Attendance

About how many people do you expect to attend this meetup? The scope of the lesson is a bit elementary for me, but I was curious about networking opportunities there since I live fairly close.

Attendance

Our normal meetings range from 10-20 people. The summer months (and December) our our lowest turnout months so I'm guessing we'll be in the 5-10 person range with one additional person remote.

One of the key features of Drupal User Groups is all users have an opportunity to learn as well as help others. We will be lining up topics for the next few months in this meeting so you'll have an opportunity to bring up topics that you would like to learn about and/or teach.

Missing Meeting

I am afraid that I can't be at the meeting. The information is always so valuable. We still need to finish up the CFCS project. I can meet most anytime and want to do so, to work on the project. Please contact me. I will be at The APCUG (Association of Personal Computer Users Groups) Annual Tech event and Annual Meeting in Cleveland this week-end. Cheryl Wilson is also out of town.

By the way, I have someone from the Cleveland Drupal Group presenting 2 sessions at the APCUG conference ( http://www.apcug.org )

Remote Attendance

Andrew, thanks for presenting this. How are you doing remote attendance? Skype G+? I would like to attend remotely perhaps.

Remote

Lets go for a G+ Hangout since both people interested are on G+ already. I'll start it up around 1pm and invite you. For users that are interested that haven't posted here, I'll make the Hangout public around 12:45pm EST https://plus.google.com/114623748656325106111/posts

No Joy

Well I am sorry to have missed this meeting but even with windows on one computer and linux on another, I'm having no success finding you. The topic is one I am currently in need of more experience, more heads, etc.

Sorry about that

Hey Paul, sorry that it didn't work for you. I just posted the full notes of the meeting so you should have full access to what we did. Before the next meeting I'll try connecting with you to do a test Hangout to see if we can get it working.

@pauljr8, were you not able

@pauljr8, were you not able to find Anrew "Hanging Out" or were you not able to get the hangout feature working? I tried to install it on a friend's xp machine and it was kind of a pain, but it did finally work. I had to login as admin and then run the installer, even though no errors were reported as a limited user.

I've had no issues installing on mac though. I should try it on ubuntu.

Meeting Notes

We had a good turnout this month, a total of 8 attendees (two virtual). It turns out that the Google+ Hangout worked pretty well (Sorry pauljr8) and our virtual attendees were able to interact and participate with the local group.

As promised, here are links to the items used in our lesson.

We also picked out what meeting topics we would like to cover for the remainder of the year:

  • Multisite D7 - Open
  • In Depth Theming - Open
  • Omega/Advanced Starter Themes
  • Mapping/Geolocation - Andrew/Mike
  • VM For Drupal - duckydan
