I'm just new here but I would like to share my idea about how probably I can help in a little way for the mobile group.
I really don't know personally how drupal mobile gone so far, though I did some reading of the group forum topics here.
I would like to propose a future infrastructure that maybe will help, aid, and guide Drupal mobile to achieve its goal.
This is called MNS [Mobile Name System] for mobile phones.
How does it works?, we have a similar infrastructure right now in the web it's called DNS [Domain Name System] we just have to cascade it to mobile phones.
I also submitted the idea to google project 10 ^ 100 here's the link: MNS link1 or MNS link2.
The target mobile phones for this proposal initially are GSM based (SMS) [anyway GSM is still has the big share of the mobile planet, 3g is cool, 4g is awesome but we can't neglect GSM now or even for several decades we are just beginning to see the real power of GSM] where W3C protocol can't get in plus they have the problem right now for IP addresses
Just maybe if it's properly implemented we can settle the issues surrounding standardized phone number format, improve international support, and will create a unified seamless integration of web to mobile computing. I hope so.
