Greetings All.
I'm not sure what it is this group is looking for, or its members interests or levels of expertise. Drupal is a great choice for building a small personal site, an NGO site or a site for the Government of Kenya. Are there special features or modules or aspects of Drupal this group is interested in?
I have done a few sites in Drupal and am doing a lot of ongoing work with Public Access TV stations here in Vermont (which has many rural areas like Kenya) using Drupal.
See some examples of my work in Drupal at http://www.triangul.us.
Thanks and I hope this group makes good progress.

You got that right...
Indeed, this group is looking to use Drupal extensively for building major sites in Kenya, especially in Government, the NGO world and Private Sector Enterprises. The members interests are greatly inclined to building enhanced websites using Drupal, in order to serve the poeple Kenya better through versatile online services and ultimately to improve or raise the aptitudes of developers to deliver enhanced web services. The internet penetration in Kenya is steadily rising, we want therefore want to deliver lots of web content and services via the improved bandwidth capabilities. We are not very skilled in Drupal, but we are hoping to learn as we use it.
Goals or Example Sites
Do you have example sites you're contemplating? It's always good to have a simple project to start on.
It might be helpful to outline main content areas (taxonomy and vocabularies), type of content to be delivered (video, audio, text, etc.) and information flow direction: how much content do you want the site visitors to provide (this may be "none"). I have trained different groups in the basics of getting a simple site up and running in Drupal. Most people are impressed w/ how simple it is to get the basics running smoothly. I always like to start simple and then build out from there.
