Hi guys,
I am not sure if anyone views this website but I wanted to ask if there was anyone who had experience with Decoupling Drupal (building websites by consuming drupal 8 Rest APIs). I might need someone to help urgently on a project.

Drupal in Kenya
Hi
My name is Tom Erickson, and I am the CEO of Acquia. I partnered with Drupal creator Dries Buytaert to start Acquia in 2007/2008.
I noticed that the Drupal group in Kenya is very quiet, and that the government sites are built in Joomla. I am curious if there is any particular reason for this. Is there a way to make the Drupal community stronger?
I will be visiting Kenya in June on a family holiday, thus the curiosity.
Cheers
Tom

How have the meetups held so far turned out guys?
Did more tan a couple of people show? That to me is always a start.
We need to see if we can be more insistent with each other for 2015.
Lets have a meetup Kenya.
Pre-Drupalcon Drupal Kenya & Uganda Meetup
With DrupalCon Amsterdam coming up, let's meet up with the Kenyan Drupal Community and give eachother an update of what is going on with Drupal in East-Africa.
Drupal is steadily growing in Uganda (the biggest Ugandan website in 2013 was powered by Drupal) and there is work being done on SMS, mapping, graphing etc.
I'd also be very interested to learn what is happening in Kenya.
Location: iHub (tentative, they have not confirmed yet.)

Meetup
Gladly announcing to you our second meetup. It has been a bit challenging mobilising but we are almost getting there.
Top on our agenda that day:
1. Website launch. To that effect any of us with the time, skill and willingness to see this done please get in touch.
2. Project proposals. One of the ways we are going to coalesce is if we are having common goals. Proposals for projects which the community can put its efforts towards will be made in the meeting.
3. Branding and Networking
An opportunity to meet and interact with your peers. Exchange ideas and have some drupal centered fun.
Extending availability of Payment Gateways to Drupal
In the spirit of opening up more payment options for e-commerce & mobile money, I had a look @ http://www.ipayafrica.com/ and the services they offer. It seems okay but unfortunately there is no Drupal integration of any kind. May I suggest that we should look into these many payment gateways and integrate them with drupal either through drupal commerce or ubercart or even better we can come up with our very own own product that incorporates and integrates with the aforementioned scope.

Backport Pesapal Module to Drupal 6
The Pesapal which is an important element in Kenyan ecommerce at the moment. As we speak we have a drupal 7 module in the sandbox.
Given the fact that a lot of websites are still running on drupal 6 I propose that we backport this module to drupal 6.
My idea is a virtual sprint on the weekend of February. Let me hear your sentiments on this.
