Because consensus thus far seems to be Friday/Saturday works better.

Not Friday
I think that a Fri/Sat schedule would make it very difficult for people coming from L.A. and the Bay Area or further to make this event. A Sat/sun schedule seems more doable for an out of towner. I know I for sure couldn't make a friday. Just my $.02
Add another 2 cents to the "Not Friday" bowl. :)
I am certainly coming from out of town (Huron South Dakota), so I generally have to fly in the night before. Having the event on Friday would greatly reduce the likelihood of attending the event, since I'm not sure I can miss that much work. Sat/Sun would work much better (in case that vote is also in consideration on this post as well).
Looking forward to seeing a lot of you again, and some new faces too!

I know the Fri/sat event sounds nice & if I was in SD, it´d probably be better for me. However, coming from out of town would make it tough- anyone who´s ever driven on the 5 during either morning traffic or after 2pm on a Friday knows how brutal that is.
But this is one of those questions where you can´t make everyone happy. Go with what´s best for the majority of attendees & the rest of us will fall in line. :)
Ok, Sat & Sun it is
The overwhelming consensus is that a Sat. and Sun will work best, so that's what we'll do.
