Hi,

I'd like a "very cool-lookin' site" since it seems to be what the niche market I'll be getting into would demand -- but I've heard that SEO works on text and links and that graphics can compromise SEO. Is that true? In what ways? And how does the picture change, if at all, when Drupal enters the picture, especially with regards to a "quick hosted site" service such as Drupal Garden or Pagebuild?? I know this is a newbie question, so please forgive since I'm still finding my footing!

TIA

Is Drupal good for SEO

One of the great things about Drupal is that as you continually add content to your site, each addition can be optimized for the search engines if the Drupal modules are properly configured and you have an SEO strategy for how you optimize each new piece of content. When it comes to a visually pleasing site, like your industry standards require, you can still find opportunities for creating SEO value. Image file names and alt text can be optimized as well as page titles, headers, and other on-page elements. It does help considerably to have text associated with the page as that is major factor in the way search engines understand what each page is really about. I would be happy to discuss your particular needs in more detail - you are welcome to contact me. See contact details on our website.

Thanks for the information, Kylon!

I've taken a look and am weighing my options at the moment (still looking for a webhost -- still wondering whether to go Drupal!)....
