Hi there,
I'm a new to Drupal with ~2 months of experience with it. I recently started as a PM with a company here in Portland, but I'm looking for ways to contribute to the Drupal community outside of my job. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm a relatively inexperienced coder, but I'm a very quick learner! It would really help to have a connection when starting in with contributing to the community. Thanks!

Write documentation
Welcome to Drupal community!
One of the best things you can do when you are new is to write up documentation as you go along.
Once you know the modules and how they work together, it is really difficult to step back and envision how it looked when you used it for the first time and where you were shaking your head in despair.
Writing up your own manuals can be usefull for the general documentation and it can help maintainers understand where there are usability issues with their modules.
And from what I hear there quiet a number of great Drupalistas in Protland, so check when they have meet-ups and just go there. And some of us hang out in different Drupal IRC channels on Freenode
