Default grid clarification

I've been reading all of the information I can find about the default Omega layout settings. One source I read stated that the default Narrow Layout would go into effect on an iPad in the portrait view (as well as on the iPhone and smaller devices).

But from what I can tell looking at the Media query used, the default Narrow layout would not go into effect in the portrait mode on the iPad, given the media query being used ...(max-device-width: 800px) and (min-width: 740px) and (orientation:landscape). This seems like the preferred behavior.

Am I interpreting the effects of the Narrow layout settings correctly?

Answering my own question

Decided to drive out to my local Apple store to do some testing on iPhones, iPads and the new Lion OS on the laptops and so forth. (I don't have an iPhone or iPad to test with yet.)

Doing so answered my questions and helped to clarify how the layout settings work. It hadn't made sense that the 3 possible default layout settings (narrow, normal and wide) were in addition to a default mobile layout.

So in fact as Jake pointed out in on a video the narrow layout does go into effect in the portrait mode on the iPad, while the normal layout is used in landscape mode. And the mobile layout works on the iPhone, etc.

When I showed a couple of the Apple salespeople what I was doing they were amazed. I merely rotated the iPad and the design changed. (I heard "Wow" at least a couple of times.) It's very impressive to see a site layout changing due to the great responsive design of Omega. Thanks to you guys doing all of the dev work!
