How can I correct the IE8 layout problem???

I have been using the Omega framework to build out my ORG's blog and recently updated to 7.x-3.0. After I uploaded that version I no longer get the fluid and smooth layout I once did.

It seems as though the content block and sidebar second no longer are floating left and inline properly in IE8. I have even went as far as turning off any global styles I may have added to my site to see if that was effecting the layout and nothing. Same result.

Is there anything that I can do to correct this? It looks like IE8 isn't even reading the styles of the second sidebar. I have invested a lot of time into trying to get this site up and running and I would hate to have to install a new theme.
