Hello there,

I am currently in the process of arranging a 2 day Drupal course in the UK, hosted in Birmingham, at the end of July, for 8 developers. It which will be open to businesses in the West Midlands region (counties of Warwickshire, West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire). [By the way, my employer OpenAdvantage (http://www.openadvantage.org/) is a government-funded organisation which exists to promote open source in the West Midlands (hence the restricted eligibility for the course).]

The materials will be released under a Creative Commons license (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike) (and GPL if there's any code), and will include presentations introducing the topics, exercises, and sample code (where appropriate). The aim is to provide developers with a brief introduction to Drupal: installation, basic configuration, module installation, customising templates, that sort of thing. Probably won't get round to writing our own modules, but will skate over the API.

Any materials already in existence which might help with this (other than the Drupal core documentation)? Or perhaps a syllabus for any an existing course? Any help would be greatly appreciated (contact me through my drupal.org contact form). As I said, anything I produce will be donated back to the Drupal community (this is a stipulation of how our project is organised).

Thanks.

We have just formed a group to build a curriculum based on Drupal, with pretty much the exact goals that you have.

Please join the group on http://groups.drupal.org/group/curriculum , and we have started with the documentation on http://www.drupaltutorials.com
If you could join us for our (weekly) irc meeting , this week's event is here : http://groups.drupal.org/node/173

Please use Attribution Share A Like, then commercial providers can easily participate as well. This is the default license as used by the Drupal handbooks as well.

I've cleared this with my boss, so materials developed will be under Attribution-Sharealike.
