April Drupal User Group Meeting?
Is there any word on the status or location of the Aprial Drupal User Group?
April Meeting
As mentioned before, VengaWorks in Meridian is always available.

As per usual, I'm putting in
As per usual, I'm putting in a vote for an Eagle-ish location. Unfortunately, we don't have any folks with offices in that area, so I'd probably need to look into options again. In the past, we've done informal meetings at Rembrandts, and formal meetings at the Eagle Library. While a cool venue, the one downside to the library is that it closes early. If folks would like to buy dinner / drinks, we might have some other options.
Any other input?

We have an eagle office
Hey stompeers, we have an Eagle office if that is the most convenient for everyone (less than a mile from Rembrandts | block off old state street).
Our office is at:
947 E Winding Creek | Suite 200 | Eagle, Idaho | 83616
http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=947+E+winding...
That would be awesome
That would be a great central place to meet (we used to meet at the Woodhouse group offices just down the parking lot when we were in there).
Is there a projector or display screen of some sort available?
Would you be able to have a dozen or so folks? Is it OK for us to bring in food and drink?

Yes And Yes
There is absolutely a projector and screen. (although the projector for some reason doesn't have standard VGA connection, it does have HDMI).
We can accommodate for 12 people. It's not a huge space, but the office is open enough that it wouldn't be trouble at all.
We have 7 MB internet, and would be happy to open the wireless up during the meeting (we also have some very long Cat 5 if needed).
As for food, people are absolutely welcome to bring food. We will be able to contribute as well.
Based on the February meeting, I would assume pizza and soda is the standard, right?
Eagle library
Of the options it seems to me that Eagle library is a good compromise. It's not nearly as posh or refined as Corey's beautiful VengaWorks space, but it is a little more central. It does close early but there are a couple of coffee shops (including Rembrandts) that aren't too far away if folks would like to retire to comfortable surrounds after the meeting.
It would seem that a good topic of discussion might be a report on the highlights and perhaps a in-depth (10-15 min) talks on a particular topic of interest, summary from the Boise Druplacon delegation.
Having said that it is very likely that family events may well prevent my making April's meeting.

Hi Nick, If you guys would
Hi Nick,
If you guys would be willing to host this month, that would be fabulous! In terms of food, in the past there have been individual sponsors for pizza / soda. I'm not sure if anyone is planning on sponsoring this meeting. If not, we can take up a collection the the beginning of the meeting and place an order then.
To all,
Is anyone interested in starting this meeting with a presentation (or two) of some kind? If there's anything that people would like to either present about or learn more about, feel free to post some ideas here. Personally, I'm on a bit of a usability kick right now, so I'm learning more about interface design and usability testing, specifically the work the usability team has been doing with Drupal, and I'd be happy to present on any half-baked understanding I have in that area, given a few days to prepare.
I'd also be interested in hearing any presentation about any area of Drupal that folks have learned about recently. I find that enthusiasm follows finally grokking something, and enthusiasm is what makes presentations interesting.

April Meeting
Hey Chris,
I have separated from the company in Eagle, so I cannot confirm or deny having the drupal meeting at that location.
Sorry to disappoint.
Multi site setup
I would like to hear about multi-site support for multiple domains running from the same hosting IP and single Drupal installation.
Multisite in May?
I'd be happy to give a multi-site talk in May. I likely won't make April's meeting (http://bit.ly/prxHx) but I'll be giving it at Linux Fest Northwest and can do a reprise if folks would like.

Hi folks, I'm seeking out a
Hi folks,
I'm seeking out a good Eagle location for the meeting, and have having issues. The Library will be a good solution in couple months when they aren't booked up, but we need something until then. In the past we've done informal meetups at Rembrandts, but if we do that the meeting will need to get bumped to Wednesday so that we don't conflict with their music night.
Here are the places I've called, if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know:
Library (booked)
Rembrandts ($50)
Casa Mexico (we're not quite big enough to grab the banquet room)
Liberty Grange (not open yet)
Eagle Hills Golf Course (we can do it if we have a dozen folks who all plan on eating dinner there).
If we do meet at Rembrandt's, I can bring a 19 inch LCD so we at least have a small presenting device.
Thoughts?

Another possible location
How about the Season's Bistro in Eagle?
How many people do you think you need room for?
I could try to reserve a room at my work, but if this is after hours I need to figure out what security says about it. Also what is the exact time and date? I just joined the group and I am not sure what the time and date for the meeting is.
Thanks,
Antonio

HI Antonio,
It looks like we have 6 attendees so far here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/17797/attendees, but there may be a few more who haven't signed up yet. The meeting would be from 6-8, with ideally a little wiggle room at the end for socializing.
I'll give the Seasons a call this morning.
Thanks!
Chris

Just got off the phone with Seasons, it sounds like it should work rather well. I'm going to go ahead and reserve an area for 6-8 (we can hang out for a while after that, too, though their kitchen closes at 8). I will bring a 19-inch LCD monitor for presentations, but if anyone has a projector, feel free to bring that as well, they have a nice white wall next to the table.
If you can, bring an appetite and some thirst so they want us back next month. :-)

Backup place if needed
I just talked to security and it would be ok to host a meeting here as long as I check everyone in and follow all the security procedures.
Just in case I have a reserved a room for 20 if needed. I think the ambiance at Seasons is better and it will not feel like we are back at work, but if needed we can meet at my work this time or in the future.
Thanks,
Antonio
are newbs welcome?

Meeting recap
We had a good meeting this eveing. A lot of new faces and some good discussion. Here's some highlights / information / thoughts:
For those interested, we have a local IRC room going at #boise-web-tech. It's a little quiet in there most of the time, but several of us are in there a lot of the time, so feel free to ping in sometime.
Antonio - I passed on your card to Rachel, the owner of the Bistro because she sounded impressed with www.frugalineagle.com.
I look forward to next month!

Nice write up!
Thanks Chris!
One missing tidbit ... Acquia is hiring :)
The second Thursday slot conflicts with Kickstand, PHP Meetup and often Idaho Press Club events... Maybe the third Thursday would work for folks? How about the first Tuesday?

nice to meet everyone
thanks for a great meeting tonight. my first experience in the group was a very good one and i'm excited to keep learning the ways of the drupal . . .
Great Meetup
That was awesome, reminds me once again why I should get out of the house every once in a while.
Thanks for showing up, and I look forward to seeing everyone next month.
Pat
Great group of people...
It was my first meet up and not my last. It was great to meet you all. That is the second best thing about Drupal; the people and the community support.
Regarding the meeting times, any Thursday works for me, Wed. are not good for me.
Thanks,
Antonio
Great meeting you all
It was really nice meeting you all last night. It was a good chance to get out and meet others using what I know to be one of the best. I am sure I will see you at future meetings.
